The Beginning.
There is a fairly large group of smokers at the company I work at, 37.5% to be exact. I end up joining them at the smoke area quite a bit. It's a good opportunity to continue work conversations. The idea of finally quitting the habit has come up on multiple occasions and so on the spur of the moment we decided to put together a contest to quit smoking. Three volunteered to finally try and quit smoking for good. Ian from IT, Mark from Purchasing, and Marie in Data Entry. February 1st is the first official day of quitting.
All three attempted to prepare for the big day. Marie quit early in the week in secret, hoping to practice a bit early in case she had an early slip. Ian decided to quit when his last pack ran out, he got to January 30th and borrowed a few from Mark to tied him over till that night when he borrowed a couple from a friend, the 31st he was completely smoke free. Mark also decided to quit when he ran out. He let Ian borrow a few on the 30th to help lessen the amount he had. He did smoke a couple the morning of the 31st but ran out later that day.
I will continue to update the progress of the three as they finally try to quit.
